About Faith & Football in Baffins
TRBC are working in partnership with Faith & Football to host the Youth Football League for 7-16 year olds in the Baffins area.
A team of dedicated volunteers from Tangier Road Baptist Church provide an opportunity for young people to:
1. Develop their football skills.
2. Strengthen their ability to work as a team.
3. Boost their confidence.
4. Make new friends, & most importantly: have FUN in a positive and relaxed environment!!
The sessions are completely FREE of charge, however, every player has to be registered by a parent or carer in advance before they can play. As soon as practical after each session the latest results will be added to the league table below, so that players and parents can keep track of their team’s progress.
At the end of each season there is an award ceremony, during which players are rewarded for their efforts.

Managers Spot - Week 5
Wow what fantastic final week of the season, it was more exciting than the end of the premier league season. We had a really intense 12 games going on with every team battling it at for those vital points that could crown them champions or move them up in the final league standings. Every team played really well and it great for the managers to see the hard work that each individual was putting in to help their team mates out.
Team Talk
The Final Team Talk of the season was on the Topic of Faith and what Faith means. It means to trust or to believe in something, and sometimes it require us to believe in something that we can't actually see, That's Faith. When we sit on a chair we have faith that it will keep us up and will not break, we believe in wind even though we can't see it, but we can see its effects. We can also have Faith in God, we believe in God and we trust God 100%, unlike lots of other things in our lives that will fail, God will not let us down and he is always there.
Hebrews 11:1 "Now Faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see"
Dan Keeping and Mark Fearon (Navy Blue Team Managers)

Managers Spot - Week 4
After two weeks of being placed on gardening leave (the lawn was looking a bit worse for wear), I was back in the managers hot seat and raring to go!
Our first game was against the Navy Blues who were at the top and on a winning streak. The game was very close but unfortunately for the yellows we lost the game 1-0 to a late goal. Our next three games possessed some excellent football where we played some great counter attacking stuff. In fact it was just like watching Brazil.
We sit second to bottom in the league. If we go out there in week five and work hard, we can get the points needed to win the league.
All the teams played really well this week and it was really enjoyable to be back involved again.
Team Talk
This week's team talk was on Encouragement and how important it is in not just football but all areas of our lives. Let's continue to encourage each other within a team by praising, passing the ball and creating space for one another. "You need to be aware of what others are doing, applaud their efforts, acknowledge their successes, and encourage them in their pursuits. When we all help one another, everybody wins."
Let's also communicate with our team mates, but most of all, let's have FUN!
Steve Jarvis (Yellow Team Manager)

Managers Spot - Week 3
Well the league is certainly starting to get interesting now as we finish the 3rd week. Sky Blues managed a win and 3 draws with the win coming against the high flying Green team which could mean a change at the top of the table but the league is now getting very close and it could go anyway. All the teams are playing well and it looks like it will go down to the final week which will make for a good time and make the games more fun as the weeks go by.
Team Talk
This week's team talk was on the theme of COMMUNICATION, which when playing in a team is so important as you need to let your teammates know where you are. But communication is a two way thing and you also need to listen to your teammates to be able to work well as a team. There are many ways to communicate with each other, in this day and age you don't even need to be in the same country as someone but can get a message to them as quick as if they were sat next to you. Remember to communicate clearly and then you can work as a more effective team. Some of the greatest leaders are also great communicators and are able to get their message across effectively and if you do that as a team you can work better together and achieve more.
Look forward to seeing you all coming back next week, and as the weeks go by the top spot could go to anyone so remember to keep a good communication in the team, it could make all the difference. Have a good week all.
Jess Ferris (Sky Blue Team Manager)

Managers Spot - Week 2
Well what a great second week, we had lots of movement in the league table. Green managed to cling onto the top spot but only just as the Navy Blues moved off the bottom of the table all the way up to second place with a fantastic run of 3 wins and a draw. Yellows and Oranges had a good week and the League table is starting to look exciting with not many points separating all six teams.
Its not all about winning though and this weeks
Team Talk
This weeks team talk was on the theme of TEAM WORK, so it was great to see all the players of each team really working hard for each other. Christiano Ronaldo is the World player of the Year but even he cant win games or trophies on his own, he needs his team mates around him to work together with him to make the team more successful. A Team full of Cristiano Ronaldo's probably wouldn't work that well because every player would be the same, a team needs different players of different abilities and strengths to work well and as all of you have different abilities and strengths then each of you has something special to bring to your team.
T.E.A.M. Together Everyone Achieves More!!!
I Hope everyone is looking forward to next week as much as us, and remember practice hard, work as a team but most of all - HAVE FUN!!!
Dan Keeping and Mark Fearon (Navy Blue Team Managers)

Managers Spot - Week 1
Wow what a great start for the Greens in the opening evening of the Baffins Faith and Football League - 3 wins and 1 draw! But while getting points is fantastic, what was more important for us to see was everyone getting involved and having FUN. With this week's TEAM TALK on the theme of 'FRIENDSHIP', it was enjoyable to meet the members of our team and to hear about what schools are represented and the variety of hobbies and interests expressed. The Greens seem to have quite a bit in common, mainly school and football... with a lot of keen Pompey fans (including Steve and I) and a few video gamers! Over the coming weeks we're really looking forward to working with you guys and getting to know you all more.
Team Talk
Let's continue to work hard as a team by passing the ball and creating space for one another, track back when we lose the ball, talk to our team mates often, offer lots of encouragement, and most of all, have FUN!
Dan Harman & Steve Swain (Greens)

Introduction - Managers Spot - League Table - Protected Pages - Victory Football Club
Victory FC is an affiliated football ministry at TRBC.
Millions of people playing sport never go near a church and have never met anyone who follows Jesus Christ.
In football, something like one third of the teams that have ever played in the Premier League started as church teams. However, there's no doubt that today sport is more significant than ever in our culture with millions of young people and adults playing and coaching every week.
At Victory FC we see football as a mission field that cannot be ignored or underestimated.
We want people to be different in the world of football and we want to see a new generation playing their football in a way that will honour God. We want to see people excited and able to stand up for Jesus in football and also be His representative to their friends and families.
Further information about Victory Football Club can be found on Victory Football Club's Website.
